Tongue outHousebreaking & Crate TrainingTongue out
*1 The Key to sucess is simple. Timing is everything.
*2  Take your puppy outside immediately after eating, playing, or napping ) approximately every two hours). Keep this rigid schedule will prevent him from making mistakes inside the house.
*3  Some trainers recommend giving your dog a command like "potty time" or "Go to the bathroom!" at the moment your pup is correctly doing his business outside. Eventually, whenever you say that phrase, the dog will eliminate on cue.
*4  Much like a little boy who dances up and down when he has to go to the bathroom, a puppy's behavior will let you know that he needs to go outside. If he whines, paces, or runs in a circle, grab the leash and get out the door.
*5  Mistakes happen. If you catch your puppy eliminacting in the house--and he will-- correct him with a firm, gentle "NO" Take him for a walk and praise him lavishly when he does his business outside.

Tip #1  ALWAYS fed and water your puppy at the same time every day.
Tip # 2 Even if your in ahurry dont bring the puppy back inside as soon as he does his business. If you do he will learn that once he eliminates, the Fun,walk is over and he'll start to hold it for longer periods.
Tip # 3  If you find that your dog eliminated in the house when you weren't looking and he has a sad exoression, DO NOT PUNISH him. Only punish and reward your puppyfor the bad and the good acts he performs while you are watching

CoolCRATE TRAININGCool
-Crating your dog several times a day is an excellant way to housebreak him.  This is because dogs will try not to soil their "home".
--Line the crate with blankets to make it cozy. You can also cover the top of it with a blanket, to further minic the DEN atmosphere.
---Use the crate for naps, nighttime slumber, and quite-time breaks for the puppy to "unwind" from family chaos.
----Buy a well-ventilated crate, one large enough for him to stand up. lie down, and turn around. If the pup has alot of growning ahead of him use a larger crate, but section off half of it with a divider.
----- Everytime you take a puppy out of the crate, take him for a walk so he can eliminate.
------NEVER leave a puppy in his crate all day, he needs several bathroom brakes and play and feeding times.
------ NEVER use the crate as punishment. It should always be a haven for your pup, NOT A JAIL CELL

FACT! DOgs like crates since they minic the close quarters of a wolf's den. so never think that crating your dog is cruel or unusual.  Its what the pros do.

Innocent What is paper-Training? Innocent
1.  Choose an enclosed area in the kitchen or bathroom, and cover the entire floor first with a vinal shower curtain and then with newspapers or puppy house-traing pads.

2.  When the puppy eliminates, replace the dirty paper or pads with cleans ones.

3.  In a few days, take away some of the paper or pads and leave part of the floor bare.  If he eliminates on the bare floor in front of you, correct him gently, and put him on the paper and praise him.

4.  Gradually remove more and more paper until you just have a small spot for elimination.  Then, as he learns to hold it longer take him outside three or four times a day to conclude his housetraing.

Make Trimming Time Fun and Not a Struggle

When you hear the telltale "click-click-click" as your dog walks across the tile floor, you know it's that time again - time to trim the toenails. Trimming your dog's nails is not just a part of grooming; it's important for your pet's health as well. You should remember that untrimmed nails could cause a variety of problems including broken nails, which are painful and bleed profusely.

While some dogs don't seem to mind when you're trimming their nails, others just plain don't like it. Make trimming time fun and not a struggle. If your pet is not used to having his nails trimmed, start slowly and work up to it gradually. Following these suggestions for a proper nail trim might help you give your dog a more pleasant pedicure.

  • Start young. The earlier you start clipping your dog's nails, the better used to it he will be. Frequent trims when your dog is young will help diminish any fear. Have your veterinarian show you how to do it the first time.
  • Learn the anatomy . Within the center of each toenail is the blood and nerve supply for the nail called the quick. In clear white nails you can see the quick, a pinkish area in the middle of the nail. Unfortunately, the common black nails do not allow an easy view. Cutting into the quick will result in pain and bleeding. You cannot see the quick on dark colored nails, making them more difficult to trim without cutting into the quick. Cut dark colored nails in several small cuts to reduce the chance of cutting into the quick.
